I'm Emma

First things first, I'm a child of the Living God. Therefore, I am chosen, redeemed, blessed and loved. God will always come first in my life, and I hope to shine His light through this blog.

I am in my mid-teens and my family and I live on our commercial sugarcane and macadamia farm in South Africa. I am a farm girl through and through. Whether it’s butterflies, flowers or birds, I love anything that has to do with nature - especially wildflowers!

My family includes my parents and three teen girls. I'm the middle child, three minutes younger than the oldest. Yes, you heard that right! I am a fraternal twin. Another part of our family are our animals. We are blessed with five dogs (one labrador, a border collie and three daschunds). In addition, we have three horses.

Of the three horses, one beautiful mare is mine. Nina is my black South African Sport Horse (She's a friesian X boerperd). She's 15.1hh for all those horsey nerds. ;) My sisters and I trained her from scratch. There a lot of hard work, tears and difficulties that went into her, but it was so very worth it! She is now ten years old and I’ve had her for five years.

I am also a writer who is hoping to get published some day. I write Christian Fiction set in the West during pioneer times. At the same time, I write stories set during the Voortrekker times in South Africa. They are basically South African pioneer tales. I hope that my writing can throw light into a darkened world. I aspire to give people hope, and remind them that they are not alone for God is with them - He's proven himself over and over!

Music is a huge love of mine. I play the piano classically and by chords. In fact, I'm working on getting my Grade 6 through Trinity College for piano.  A member of the church worship team, I play the violin by ear, and the piano most Sunday mornings. I also play the piano accordion and dabble in guitar. I believe that one of my spiritual gifts is music.

In this blog, everything I write will be written for God, to His glory, because He deserves it all and more!
